Why bother? There's no escaping our destiny. It's too much trouble, I suppose.


Oh, there is a way to escape it. The situation is that we will have to change certain things in order to escape it.; Those changes will not be pleasant. They will alter the very setup of this nation. But, they will correct the problems, as long as we are willing to make the changes.

But, we won't. THAT is the reason why this question is being asked. Why bother when we are not addressing the underlying reason or the situation in the first place? It is not a question of 'giving up'. It is seeing that the reason for this will not be addressed and therefore trying to 'save' it is just idiotic.
