16. That's the mystery to me

How does he just keeping going? "Allegedly" and based on video that's been shared, especially in 2020 (but also before), he has appeared so out of sorts that it seemed like only a matter of time before some critical incident--perhaps a cardiac infarction or gushing hemorrhagic stroke. (Not that I would wish that on anyone, or wish it on most people). I remember seeing video of him from before the 2020 election where he appeared anorexic, incoherent and disheveled and I had the though "He's got days, hours left." He just keeps going on though.

My frame of reference of this subject is Woodward's book on Belushi. But I remember now that Belushi didn't die until he began mixing cocaine with heroin--so that's a big difference I guess. In normal society, you can ruin your life and career by using cocaine at this level, but if you live in a special social bubble made possible by wealth and privacy, you can probably abuse cocaine for years, maybe decades. I don't know what the current view is, but at one point cocaine abuse was considered a possible risk factor for Parkinson's Disease.
