(23,591 posts)now granted I was actually sick for a week after election day with a nasty cold but today is the first day I have actually felt like getting up and doing something. I have slept a lot more than normal, ignored stuff I need to do, stopped doing things I normally enjoy (like baking) and letting my house get even messier than normal.
The very idea of getting dressed in normal clothes and going out to do something was enough to make me go back to sleep. It really fits the description of classic depression.
I am going to have to take it slow I think. There are 44 million of us who feel the same way.
Someone up thread suggested she join the Democratic party in her county. She will meet like minded folks.
Another option is to go to this website https://www.nfdw.com/ which is the National Federation of Democratic Women. They have the contact information for the State President in each state. Then go to the state's webpage to find the local clum closest to her. I belong to Tarrant County Democratic Woman's Club here in Ft Worth; our state organization is Texas Democratic Women. She should be able to meet more likeminded people and expand her network.
