No one is talking about the insult. [View all]
The insult to the entire nation, to most of the people who call themselves American, whether they voted Republican or Democratic. It is an insult to the vast majority of us to install this man in the presidency. The insult issue is one that cant be examined by the MSM, so crucial to them is it to maintain the appearance of complete fairness. So they wont be called a bad name. They cling to both siderism because theyre terrified of being called biased. And they have retreated so far into the pretense of fairness that they can only conceive of being on one side or the other. They must be leftish of rightish. Because there is no other mental universe to inhabit, and base their comments on. There is no history; there is no scientific advancement; there is no accumulated political wisdom to rely on. To adhere to any established principle or point of view might expose the journalist to charges of favoritism, even when all thats being favored is the rule of law, not of one strong man.
The election of the 47th blunder is an insult to every American who has started with little or nothing and made something of him- or herself by hard work and playing by the rules. An insult to those who borrowed money to go to college, and are still paying back their loans, an insult to all who have served or are serving in the National Guard, or the armed services, an insult to all parents who lost a partner and continue to raise their children to be law-abiding, contributing citizens, an insult to all parents who take the job of parenting seriously, an insult to anyone who fell into substance abuse and climbed out again, an insult to single people who support the society around them even though they dont have children to worry about, an insult to all those who started their adult lives with 0.02% of the 47th blunder's material advantages, and now run their own businesses, which they built from the ground up; its an insult to those who got in trouble with the law, paid for their mistakes, and now have built lives of substance. Its even an insult to MAGAs, although they may not realize it. The punishment for being credulous is that it makes you a patsy for any conman who comes along.
As for whats to be done about this, I dont have a fool-proof plan. But if we have not pointed out yet that he only ran so as to improve his chances of staying out of jail, we could invoke the 14th Amendment, and argue that of course the president is an officer of the U.S.. We would have to let this be appealed to the Supreme Court, and who knows what the current majority might do. There is enough courage in Washington to do something decisive to deny him the presidency. If we do nothing, we label ourselves before the world as unpatriotic idiots.
