Not about your OP, but the article.

...Phelan was a Trump campaign megadonor. He reportedly donated more than $800,000 to Trump’s joint fundraising committee...

"Mega" means a million. If he donated 800k, he's not a "mega" donor. Why not just "big"? It's an even shorter word.
I know it's nothing. It just bugs me that people who make their living with words use them incorrectly.
