But if a secular state is just as murderous as a religious state, then the fact that it is secular is of little value or interest.

There's no doubt that HTS is a group of extremely unlikeable and disturbing characters, who will no doubt cause a lot of harm, especially since they will be in coalition with other maniacs. But defending the absolutely vile Assad regime because there are Latin dance classes in Damascus is truly fucking bizarre argumentation.
