First, Schwarz saw charges for a local hotel room on her credit card that she didn’t recognize. When she confronted Hegseth, he was evasive. Two sources told me that Schwarz later learned that Hegseth had booked the room for Deering, with whom he had been having an affair. Finally, Hegseth revealed that he had had five affairs while they were married.
