69. Well, the robber barons besides being actually smart

were pretty mean. 6 days work weeks, 12 hour work days, poor safety. Under Carnegie, a lot of deaths for steelworkers on the job. Violence to strikers. There have always been mean rich people.

The robber barons bought McKinley's presidency, duped the voters, and then were foiled by an assasination that gave us Teddy Roosevelt. But even McKinely didn't want to be a dictator.
