You clearly haven't read his manifesto, which mentions no personal motivation for his actions. There is no indication he did this to stand up for himself.

He did this to make a name for himself. He did this because he sees himself as uniquely capable of moral clarity (emp added):

No the reality is, these [indecipherable] have simply gotten too powerful, and they continue to abuse our country for immense profit because the American public has allwed them to get away with it. Obviously the problem is more complex, but I do not have space, and frankly I do not pretend to be the most qualified person to lay out the full argument. But many have illuminated the corruption and greed (e.g.: Rosenthal, Moore), decades ago and the problems simply remain. It is not an issue of awareness at this point, but clearly power games at play. Evidently I am the first to face it with such brutal honesty.”

No, you do not need to grow up rich to think you can stand up for yourself. Most people can and do stand up for themselves. The biggest lie in politics is that "both parties are the same and nothing ever changes". If that's something you're teaching then look in the fucking mirror.

Mangione is not a hero and your pathetic revisionism is a disgrace.
