(10,278 posts)To my knowledge, the number these days is something like 481 people controlling 90% of the wealth in the U.S.. (I am looking for the article that said this. It has been a minute.) The fact that our society is even that unbalanced should have everyone calling for the current socioeconomic system (unfettered capitalism to the exclusion of anything else) to be banned from practice forever shows me what I need to know about the 'average American'. (Namely that Dunning Kruger is more than a theory/syndrome.)
I am with you. I don't see myself lasting much longer either. Whether it comes from my health finally doing me in, or the jackboots when they come for me because I am LGBTQA+ and would fit in with their 'undesirable' schtick. Of course, it won't be the feds that come for me... it will be that orange gibbon's private army of sycophantic idiots. All this means my days are numbered. I will start losing my meds once the system collapses and then it will be agony without aid or pity. All while the rich sit on their bloody thrones and complain because they can't exploit the nation enough.
