It happened again, only this time I was at a tire center getting my tires balanced and rotated along with an oil change.

While sitting in the waiting room which has windows facing the parking lot I see a super duty diesel powered pick up truck pull in. The driver gets out and has a camo field jacket on and a red MAGA hat - two color combinations that do not go well together, but it could be the official uniform for MAGAdom. Of course he has a goatee and is about 80 pounds overweight.

I'm the only one in the waiting room, so I had MSNBC on the television. There was a female anchor and she was talking about all the good that the Biden administration accomplished and how he was handing off a finely tuned Lambo to day glow. That's when MAGA man walked in and sat down. It took about ten seconds before he starting spouting off about MSNBC and Biden and asked if he could change the channel. I told him I'd just as soon turn it off and he agreed.

He proceeds to tell me how much he prefers FOX over MSNBC and that's when I kick it into gear. I tell him they both suck and a pox on both networks. He asked why I do not like FOX, so I unload with how both networks are agenda driven partisan hacks and that they; along with the major political parties, are tearing the country apart. At this point he looks totally off balance because he was ready for an argument with a (God forbid) LIBERAL.

I then proceed to tell him how George Washington had disdain for political parties and how he felt they would divide America and how old George has been proven to be correct.

That's when I proceed to paint a Rockwellian image of an America where people had no idea what religion or political party their neighbors belonged to, but they knew each other's names.

I finished with how we had three major networks who all delivered the news without including their opinions and that if there was commentary it was five minutes at the end of the newscast and how both sides of every issue would get equal time.

At this point this man got a call on his cell and went to his truck to take it. It was then that I saw him take off his MAGA hat and put on a Yankee hat. When he came back in I asked him what happened to his Make America Great Again hat, he sheepishly told me he no longer wanted to wear it. I told him that even though I was a Red Sox fan I preferred the Yankee hat.

The tech then came in and told me my car was ready. That's when MAGA man told me to have a nice day and that he was glad to have talked with me. He said he was tired of living politics 24/7 and that he was going to disengage from it all.
