(15,704 posts)Even in a safe blue state, I knew a couple New Deal type Dems who just didn't think Harris was right for the job; they wished Walz was at the top of the ticket.
I guess they wanted someone they could "get behind"; they wanted "perfection" in leadership, a Man for All Seasons.
"Harris was too pushy, looked like she took things too emotionally" - one guy complained she was too much like his ex-wife, he respected her, but she expected him to do too much in the relationship...
Harris was "Questionable" - pushy, emotional, uppity...and they were telling their family members, friends and associates that when shooting the bull during the election. You don't think that had an effect on other voters?
These guys (and gals) were shocked after Nov. 7; they all figured she was going to win anyway, so they didn't fill in the bubble on the President/Vice President line. As a protest, or because it wouldn't matter to them.
You get enough people who think voting isn't interesting or doesn't matter, and it won't.
