Chucking in that he said maybe short-term or maybe long-term softens it a bit--and makes it less what he said and what we hear.

Still, I think he'd like the place thinned out.

And operationally, rebuilding among occupied rubble is going to present its own logistical challenges. Sort of like sending all the Altadena and Pac. Palisades people back to live on their properties in tents as their home sites are cleared and prepped and rebuilt sounds like a really bad idea.
