personal opinion, and based on what I hear in real life from these people instead of DU.
The problem they have is not equality. The problem they have is that the way they are seeing it, a lot of positions are filled based on race or gender as a priority, and that is absolutely illegal if that is what is happening. They also see standards lowered so that all so that women or minorities will qualify where they normally wouldn't have based on actual duty requirements. That is also not good if it is really happening.
Their points are valid in my opinion, except that I don't believe it is really happening. If someone has an advantage because of their race or gender, I would have to disagree with that policy. It goes against everything a Democrat should believe in, as in we are all equal in regard to our race or gender.
