Took me a while to not use the F word the way teen girls use to use “Like” a few years ago.
No women were on our ship, so we just created a whole new language.
But when we went ashore, I got as far away from drunken sailors as possible and took time to explore the country we parked at.
Great thing about a destroyer, 300+ crew. I/3 of that stay aboard each day so I only had to avoid 200 drunks.
A carrier, 5,000+. So the harbor's that had to host them……my sympathies.
Gotta say though, ever since Trump became a thing, I talk like a sailor on an all male ship that’s been at sea for 6 weeks. Fuckin A!
But only my dog’s, just one now, the other had to get THE shot 6 weeks ago, are subjected to my sailor lingo. And ya’ll here on DU get a sampling.
