They should simply ignore any court rulings that seek to constrain them. They should bring Congress to heel, in part by mobilizing their populist base against recalcitrant lawmakers. And liberal or mainstream media organizations and universities should be summarily closed.’

*** I spoke with one of my former federal coworkers yesterday and he’s generally a very apolitical person, so keep that in mind. He himself is not taking this very seriously. That seems to be the general mood at my former office, but none of them are going to resign voluntarily under the threats delivered by Musk. Everyone believes these are illegal orders, which they are. The problem I see is that laws don’t matter to Trump or Musk and our Congress certainly has demonstrated no backbone. I’m very pessimistic.
