...he'll find out he has more debt than assets and no way to make a significant amount more to cover it. He will still have his die hard followers, but they will not be able to pony up. Have to think his wife is taking the humiliation because of two things. One, she has mental problems of her own or two, she is quietly siphoning off parts of his fortune with his blessing. Or maybe both.

Michael Jackson ran into this problem, one difference however...most people still liked Michael Jackson.
