This is the conversation we need to start having.

I'm being beaten by people on this forum for suggesting that this is a parenting problem.

It all looks so complicated. It isn't. But if one wants to look just at parenting, we see the root causes of ADD. We see children being raised by their own peers, instead of by parents. And even when raised by parents, the economic inequality, passing along of abusive experiences to children, lack of health care, high paced modern society, all add up to emotional traumas that are at the root of these problems.

I think your post really nails the heart of this discussion.
