The MAGAs canceled their event at the Villages. [View all]

In a nutshell, there was push back by the residents and there was no way to confirm that ticket holders were going to be fans of J6. But Maga's excuse was that their event was so popular that they didn't want to overburden the police department.

MAGA Club calls off J6ers’ visit after meeting with top brass in The Villages

The Villages MAGA Club decided to call off a controversial upcoming event after a meeting with top officials from The Villages.

Tommy Jamieson, head of the MAGA Club, confirmed on Friday the cancellation of the Feb. 28 event which would have featured some of the people arrested in the Jan. 6, 2021 violence at the U.S. Capitol. They have since been pardoned by President Trump.

The event, which was to take place at the Rohan Recreation Center, set off a firestorm of controversy in Florida’s Friendliest Hometown, culminating in a standing-room-only crowd showing up at Thursday’s Community Development District 10 Board of Supervisors’ meeting at SeaBreeze Recreation Center. The residents demanded the cancellation of the event, although the CDD 10 board had no authority over it.

After making the decision, the MAGA Club issued the following statement:

The Villages MAGA Club received an overwhelming response to our MAGA sold-out event scheduled for Friday, February 28th at Rohan Recreation Center. Unfortunately, while intended to be a peaceful event, it has been determined that the logistics of this event will create a large impact for our local law enforcement and the first responders to provide support in safety, parking, and crowd control. As a huge supporter of law enforcement and first responders, the leadership of MAGA has determined that it is not in the best interest of residents to pull these vital agencies from performing their emergency duties. Until further notice, MAGA leadership has decided to cancel the event on February 28th. We will continue to support those who were treated so unjustly by the Biden administration and the leftwing media. Despite all the worries or concerns about the pardoned J6ers, they were coming here in peace to tell their story, not to take over The Villages or cause violence. The Villages MAGA Club did not want any of the law enforcement, first responders, recreation employees, The Village’s staff, or the attendees to be harmed or injured in anyway. Trump won, get over it.
