9. and HOW EXACTLY will that backlash lead to restoration of democracy?

A dictator that, through blackmail and intimidation, has consolidated power into a "unitary executive" has no restraints. With the decapitation of military leadership...placing loyalists in leadership positions, he has no restraints. The Insurrection Act will be declared as soon as all players are confirmed and in place. The government is being purged of any potential dissenters. The press is losing it's ability to report negative stories about El Presidente.

An irate populace can only respond at the ballot box. The power of elections is being eroded by Republican legislation. Fair election in 2026 and beyond are not certain.

The bottom line is that chaos and dissent will be met with military force. This is Trump's fever dream. The courts, Congress, the press, and the beauracracy are ALL being crushed.

We have seen this movie throughout history. It is far easier to destroy a democracy than to restore it. Liberal pundits keep insisting that this wave of illegal autocratic rule can not stand against an uprising of citizens. I still cannot connect the dots between street protests and the actual POWER to reverse recent acts.
