(11,464 posts)I am 100% anti-gun and 1000% anti NRA
though if you look at my transparency profile it shows I frequent the pro-gun group on DU
and I do
and 100% of every single post is 100% anti-gun, 1000% anti-NRA and we debate
I block no one, I censor no one, and I donot call for almost any post to be hidden
(can't say the same in reverse but that is their right.)
This is a political discussion board, two answers not echo chambers is what a discussion is suppose to be.
I go to my friends for friendship. Here I discuss political issues. And I keep the two separate.
It is why on the prior board I was on from 2003-Feb.2012 when it instantly disappeared even from cache googled post, I was considered an outsider
I had my view, and people on different topics had theirs
But that place (CGCS, which was the spin off in 2004 from the official Kerry Board of 03-04)
also had a gun section called RA and there were some vicious gun fight debates in it.
I never expected and didn't win them over, however, I did win many others and many outside readers over.
And this anti-gun person was still standing when that board shut down
and yes, there too I had people ignore me, want me off, etc. But I remained there til the end. At which point signed up here. (had 80,000 plus posts over there).
And what is the good of ignore? ALl it leads to is separate threads and a bunch of muddled threads at that, as part of it is hidden and answers then don't make much sense in reading.
So agian, I ignore no one. And politics is strange-
sometimes someone who really disagrees with me on one issue today, will be the one watching my back on another issue next time.
That is what happened over at CGCS during the Terry Schiavo fiasco (and my view is sitll the same which is why I so do love Charlie Crist for spitting in Jeb's face twice and stopping him from interferring with the husband's wishes on that issue).
So these people that ignore on one issue, strikes me as very foolish.
especially on a political debate board.
