Trump and Normalcy Bias. [View all]

Normalcy Bias is a cognitive bias which leads people to disbelieve or minimize threat warnings. Consequently, individuals underestimate the likelihood of a disaster, when it might affect them, and its potential adverse effects. The normalcy bias causes many people to prepare inadequately for natural disasters, market crashes, and calamities caused by human error. Link

Currently, many leaders in our nation, members of congress, the media, financial institutions, corporations, etc. are suffering from Normalcy Bias. They either cannot comprehend or they minimize how profoundly incompetent, dangerous, and disastrous Trump is. After yesterday's meeting with President Zelensky, there should have editorials in all major newspapers calling for Trump's and Vance's resignation. Wall Street should have sold off everything. Instead, it was just another Friday.

Trump and Vance have put the wheels in motion towards World War III and few "leaders" seem alarmed at the slightest. They're incapable of understanding the scope of the impending calamity. Maybe their lives are too soft and comfortable. Maybe they surround themselves with wealthy people. Maybe their brains cannot accept the fact that wars on the European market will disrupt their lives in ways unimaginable.

Things are not normal and they won't get back to normal until strong action is taken.
