6. We should have never bankrupted the Soviet Union.

The Soviet Union went tits-up and suddenly America's Authoritarian Followers were denied their Ancient Enemy. Like ants scurrying leader-less when you kick the anthill they have run around in a panic looking for some "other" to hate and be frightened of. They need a "powerful" leader to tell them who to hate, who to be frightened of. They claim to love "freedom", but TRUE freedom scares them shitless. What they mean is the "freedom" to be told what to do, who to salute, who to hate, where and what to worship, who to be frightened of.

They now have a 5-headed enemy. Liberals, Teh Ghey, Poor people, non-Christians, and Brown People. Oh, and women. Women are for the sexual pleasure of men and must pop out a baby a year so Murrika will have plenty of soldiers to fight her enemies

They need a "strong" leader who will protect them. They think they have found that leader in Newt Gingrich. How do you explain why someone as morally and ethically challenged as Newt appeals to "Law-and-Order Family Values" Authoritarian followers? The Authoritarians have 2 standards of conduct, one for themselves, and one for their leaders. The standard for the leaders is like something out of "Animal Farm" where the leaders are accorded things not considered good for the masses because, well, because they're the leaders, and leading is hard work.
