63. I don't think that strategy has been working out

In Europe data shows adopting right-wing policies doesn't help centre-left win votes mainly because voters prefer the original to the copy.

The theory should be leading to landslide victories because MAGA is far right that isn't happening though. Republicans nominated Romney even though they didn't like him because they felt he had the best chance of beating Obama. Trump has done better than the moderate Republican neo-cons (who are actually more popular with Dems these days) at winning Presidential elections.
