However, SSA recipients who are already receiving benefits are in an automated system that deposits their benefits every month. That's not dependent on staffing, really. And that's what I'm talking about. If you are already receiving regular benefits, you can probably relax a little and worry less.
If you're just getting on those benefits, though, you can expect it to take longer to get them established and into the automated system. I don't know a lot about that. I've been getting SSA benefits since I was 62 years old. I'm 79 now. So, that's what I'm familiar with. I can't speak about any other aspect of Social Security. SSDI and SSI are two programs I don't know about. I know something about Medicare, but very little about Medicaid, for the same reasons. So, I'll leave commentary on those to someone else.
