Long since retired, so I don't have to worry about losing my job. I am actually someone who always knew that Social Security was only intended to be about one-third of a retired person's income. The rest was expected to come from savings and pension. Keep in mind that back then, most women weren't working, so weren't putting into SS or a retirement plan.
