54. These are NOT normal times

Normal "give and take", normal "compromise", normal "order"...NORMAL DOESN'T FUCKING EXIST ANYMORE.

That ship sailed a helluva long time ago. I've said here before whenever folks ask "how did we get here" that the GOP has played the long game, they decided power was better than compromise decades ago, and they sacrificed everything this country was supposed to stand on to attain that goal. When a whole generation of GOP leaders have been trained up to believe that not only is their worldview "Christian" that the Democratic perspective is Satanic, you can't compromise with that mentality, no matter how hard you might try. The weak assed attempts to "restore normal" when our side has gained political leverage has only served to weaken us further.

We are living through an authoritarian takeover decades in the making. Compromise will only further their goals.
