I dont expect more than 10% of the republican voters to open up their hearts and minds.
To confront ones inner fears requires substantial emotional strength and courage, Fear is expressed as Hate when released outward. Hate allows people to avoid facing their fears by blaming others for whatever real or perceived grievances they have. Hate is addictive and a cheap emotional high because one can unleash their anger without reprisals -When it is normalized and justified.
*** Thats what the republicans gave their voters since the 1980s. And its easier to hate than to examine ones conscience, assumptions and fears.
For that reason, I dont think republican voters will make substantial changes to their thoughts and emotions.
I do remain hopeful.
May loving-kindness surround all beings with peace and compassion.
