(13,003 posts)of young men in 66-67-68-69-70 who made the decision to leave the country..........Many had figured out, that THE ONLY REASON for the U.S.'s Viet Nam involvement was to feed the Military Industrial Complex with un-fathomable amounts of profits, and they didn't even think about it costing tens of thousands of young men who were our nation's finest............
Of course if you were a rich kid, or privileged, you escaped the draft for four years of college, and places were reserved for you in the National Guard or Reserves when you graduated. Groups of Military that pretty much remained stateside. One most notable member of that GROUP was WBush who didn't even have to show up for duty..............
In 67-68 Defense Secretary McNamara told Johnson it was rumored the Norcoms were amassing a huge offensive, later called the TET OFFENSIVE. He needed 250,000 more draftees. He instructed recruiters that he had lowered the IQ requirement to 70? and to go after blacks because they were the easiest pickings. This group was known as: McNamara's Morons.......
Many young men left for Canada and other destinations rather than be sacrificed so a wealthy group of Corporations could make hundreds of millions of dollars off the Viet Nam mis-adventure......And, it has continued ever since then, one conflict or war after another.....
