17. The NYT Author misses the whole point...

For decades the "right track wrong track" polling numbers have gotten worse and worse...

In general, Americans are pretty unhappy about the state of the country.

To many... Trump is NOT seen as a conservative, like Romney or McCain... Trump is seen as a disruptor, one to overturn the apple cart.

PLUS... Trump wisely played the right chords to attract younger MEN in the campaign through Rogan, MMA, etc...

Trump cobbled together an extremely WEIRD coalition... from old skool GOP'ers, PTA Moms, incel youth, haters, racists and lifes "losers" with grievances.

Calling Trump a "conservative" is weird.

I'm sure Steve Schmidt, Liz Cheney, Shrub and Bill Kristol would be the first to claim he's not a conservative.

He's a carnival barker and that's really the whole point.
