4. Both login.gov and ID.me require

a photo id for the verification process. I had an issue with login.gov because I kept getting the message "we couldn't match you to this number" for my phone number, when it was the same number they just sent on the verification screen as the one they have on file for my number! Made no sense at all.
But the ID.me verification process was more user friendly and I got it set up in just a few minutes.
Concerning the photo of the id, sometimes you have to retake the photo due to the lighting conditions or perhaps a blurry image.
