Login.gov ID and password to log into ssa.gov.

I didn't see anything all that new or outstanding on my Social Security statement, or anywhere else on my account, for that matter. So maybe my knee-jerk delete reaction was justified.

I do get occasional emails from Social Security. If you get them, look carefully at the sender. Is it "no-reply@ssa.gov" ? That's one clue that it could be legit, still the safest way is to never click on any links in the email (or in any email, for that matter) and instead, use your browser to manually login to your account.....Social Security, bank, insurance, online payment system like Square or PayPal, etc.
