74. It is never a choice between a perfect candidate and pure evil and incompetence (although this election came close).

I have been going through the voting precinct data in our state (MN), and it amazes me how people completely switch positions from election to election (seem to lack a compass or a core set of beliefs). Lots of people go into a voting booth and only vote for president, or only for the US senate candidate, or vote for people from both parties and/ or skip down ballot candidates altogether. This is in a state which consistently ranks as number one in voter turnout. I expect it is even worse in other states (assuming they bother to show up).

Choosing not to vote because the candidate did not check all your boxes is an unacceptable abdication of one’s civic duty. The people who sat out the election are as guilty as the Republican cult members who voted for the Orange Mussolini terrorizing the country and world right now.
