In reply to the discussion: 'Democrats Lost Them': Here's Why 2020 Biden Voters Sat Out The 2024 Election (Rolling Stone) [View all]Jack Valentino
(4,232 posts)In hindsight it would appear that it would have made no difference whatsoever--
but campaigning in a state can sow seeds for the future--- see Hillary Clinton and Arizona...
(which she lost but Biden won 4 years later).
In the end, I think that Kamala like Hillary, tried to "play it a little too safe"---
She failed to emphasize any economic populism in the home stretch,
and failed to explain why Trump would be bad economically---
the word "tariff" practically never came out of her mouth, she called it a "tax"
(which it is, but people didn't follow it--- and then she was off into other issues)
I think the high prices doomed us, like incumbents in so many other countries--
and so the situation called for more boldness and economic populism, which did not happen.
Also, she should have made clear that there was some separation between her and Biden,
on GAZA.... ( I detected a little such separation early in her campaign, but then it was shoved under the carpet).
