2. If students aren't interested enough to major in them, it makes sense to cut them

Utah State University plans to cut 14 majors, including engineering, public health, and elementary education, while the University of Utah is looking to possibly cut mining, metallurgical, and geological engineering programs.

They told KUTV 2News they are looking at cutting programs that have less than 40 students enrolled.
