surrounded by Red. Typically, those of us in the urban zones are Blue-leaning, and concentrated, while those in the rural areas are much more diffuse and tilted Red, to the right, reflecting their independent streak and desire for more privacy than the cities can provide. Viewing the electoral map after Hillary's non-selection, I was taken by the notion that Dems had totally lost the "septic tank vote", reflecting a political divide over how we regard each other and our living conditions. Civility is hard for some people, and patience with diversity is short, leading some to opt-out of "community" altogether. Folsom is a rapidly growing community, and as the 'burbs fill up, they are leaning a bit more left for the time-being.
