In reply to the discussion: Congress erupts over FBI arrest of Wisconsin judge [View all]ForgedCrank
(3,005 posts)not Harriet Tubman, they are bound to follow the laws as written. Firstly, a warrant is not required in order to arrest someone. Regardless there was a valid and active immigration warrant issued for this guy. Also, rules may be pesky at times, but they have to be there for good reason. No one is above the law.
In addition, this guy was deported once already and snuck back in a second time. This is illegal.
At the time, this guy was in court for beating someone to a pulp over loud music, and the judge, knowing federal agents were in the building to collect him (on an active warrant), adjourned his court hearing without even telling the prosecutors so she could sneak him out of a side door and evade the federal agents.
This judge broke the law, and we simply can't promote that. That is, unless you think we will regain control of the country and keep it that way forever. We have laws for a reason, and we elect people to do that on our behalf. Judges don't get to decide that. Just because we may like the outcome, it's reckless and destructive to support and promote such actions.
Facts matter.
You got it wrong.
