It requires a lot of support and patience. When my wife goes through an episode, I have to wait awhile or take walk until she burns herself out of it. Then give her a big hug. She hates it when it happens and knows it will happen again.

If you add in someone who isn't supportive or worse, dismisses it...you are going to be part of the problem.
