While the house is actively burning down, why are we talking about whether or not a renovation a few months back was handled properly?

And if we're going to engage in What If'ism and what the party could've handled better, a way more productive conversation is the one about how we still seemed to be "caught flat-footed" when TSF was reelected? After all the campaign season talk of existential threats, not to mention the fact that we barely survived that guy's first term.

Joe Biden's cognitive state last year isn't the "confession" that anyone needs to make to the country. I feel like that's the straw man compared to the Democrat's real problems and real mistakes that contributed to where we're at. Incrementalism. Consultants. A general lack of cohesion. Literally, I feel like this is the Poseidon Adventure and we're arguing over whether the stern or the bow is the place to be.

Back in 2016, I asked what valuable lessons we learned and the answer seems to be "none." Now, if by the grace of God, we pull this one out of the abyss, the party needs to firmly grasp that we won't get a third crack at saving democracy. That's what party leaders and our elected officials need to be having a good think on.
