"There are no grades of vanity, there are only grades of ability in concealing it," wrote Mark Twain in 1898. In Trump's case, it appears that no attempt has been made to hide the extraordinarily immense, potentially destructive vanity of the man who is leading us into perdition with him. Nor do there appear to have been any efforts whatsoever to rein him in.
The whole sordid episode of the Qatari 747 is the most unconcealed example of pathological vanity (narcissism) that I can ever recall seeing .. anywhere. I think that he has already done permanent damage to this country. I fear that we are beyond the tipping point.
