30. No- there are clearly TWO people in this dysfunctional relationship, and Obama's one of them.

Boehner could never grandstand like this without the kind of power that he gets from Obama. Democratic leadership wouldn't be begging the Presdent not to put social security on the table, the unions and the Bold Progressives wouldn't be desperately trying to push back against these things if Obama wasn't putting them on the table.

This is not "new". This is exactly the same thing that happened last time in, what, 2009? Obama increasingly puts more and more on the table, infuriating his base and Democratic representatives- only to be turned down by Boehner.

We won.

We should start negotiating from a position of strength and our first position of strength is if the GOP doesn't cut a deal with us on our terms, the sequestration cuts go into effect Jan 1.
