54. He's still swinging thise golf clubs

He's probably not choosing the right ones or managing to keep his cheating score straight, but he's still out there.

However, his head is still sinking lower between his shoulders, so his golfing days are numbered. Kyphosis (the ten dollar word for deterioration of the upper spine that leads to widow's hump) will make it too painful to do anything but sink putts.

As for his looks, nobody looks his best at the age of 79. I'm a little younger than he is but I look like shit, too.
