In reply to the discussion: Pic: I am a forever dog [View all]maddezmom
(135,060 posts)17. I just adopted a rescue dog a few months ago
and he continues to chew and destroy anything he can. The last being a pair of shoes I just purchased to replace the other ones he destroyed and then pooped everywhere. He's still one of my bestest friends and curls up in my lap at night like a cat. He needs to have a lot of excersise, plenty of things to chew on that are legal and lots of supervision.
Kind of like both of my children that were also adopted, if I keep a good eye on them and are there for them I have a feeling they might stay out of trouble and if not I'll still love them. Forever is forever.

I've adopted older dogs and I've wished I could have kept all of them forever.
