Why would any Republican have voted for Plan B? [View all]

It's a symbolic vote that concedes a tax increase, and thus in RW speak is a tax increase... seems like a stone loser for pug Representatives.

Even if they would vote for a tax increase in a final passage (something I am not sure of), why cross the Norquist-beast as a gesture.

If Dems support the final bill there won't be many Rs needed and a lot of these pugs will vote no on the deal, but if they had voted on Plan B they would still be primaried on that vote.


I am surprised Boehnner is surprised.
