39. I always do...and if it's expired I'll check for any other expired items like it, tell an employee

about it and how many there are, and ask if they have any in stock that aren't past the expiration date so I can buy at least one. And if there aren't any employees nearby who can deal with this immediately, I'll load all the expired items into my cart and take them to customer service before someone else buys them without checking.
