(18,690 posts)Very red and quite rural, with a predominantly elderly population that depends on one nearby hospital and maybe a half dozen homes for the elderly and assisted-living type structures. So far our hospital is not on the hit list, but I am doubtful a lot of the medical infrastructure we are fortunate enough to have can survive not only the Bill but the fact that our younger people want to get the hell out of this place. It is dying by attrition. Do they know who is responsible? I don't know if they get it. Fox News will tell them it's somebody else's fault and that the Bill has nothing to do with it. But the people who work in medicine up here are smart and brave and I believe they will shoot straight with out population and tell them factually if these cuts are the reason their health care and infrastructure are going away.
