Want some inspiration? Get thee to thy Netflix, [View all]

and watch Episode 6 of Turning Point, The Bomb and the Cold War. It describes the Polish protests, the Solidarność movement, the huge demonstration in Leipzig, East Germany in October of 1989, when despite information that troops would be ready to fire on them, thousands came out holding candles, and the assembled troops never fired a shot because "the people were holding candles in one hand and protecting them from the wind with the other." This was soon followed by the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the deposition of the Communist governments in Czechoslovakia and Romania.
