7. It's true that California has a negative return...

...on federal taxes of about $83B in 2022 (don't know the latest numbers), and it's true that you would run your own Social Security system, so those taxes would stay in-state (no idea how much that is annually), but would that be enough to pay all of the Social Security benefits that California gets now (~$115B/year) and start a military from scratch?

Perhaps it would.
