(11,175 posts)I use WordPerfect even more than Notepad. I navigated to WordPerfect once, right clicked on it, selected "Send to" and then "Desktop (create shortcut)". As per what you describe for Windows 8, I did it only once, and now when I open Windows my shortcut to WordPerfect is right there, accessible by double-clicking. It's also on my Start menu (and thanks to you I now know why).
In the video in #123, the author says that using a laptop's trackpad to move the cursor from left to right can be registered as a "swipe" that changes applications. As one of the few Win 8 defenders on this thread, have you run into that problem?
You said upthread that the advantage of Windows 8 is that it minimizes clicking. I don't have a problem with clicking a little more. As you say, I'd have to re-learn the navigation, and there are more interesting things to learn in this world.
