When Epstein was convicted in Florida in 2007 or 2008, Ghislaine and Jeffrey had very little contact after that. For awhile she remained in New York (I believe) but eventually she started moving around staying with friends, and keeping one step ahead of the law. Virginia Giuffre was already bringing lawsuits against both of them, and she got them charged with rape and trafficking crimes. (Giuffre had fled the country and was living in Australia, and that caused delays.)
It almost looked like Maxwell would skip out of everything and leave the country unnoticed. But somehow the law tracked her down. I think it might have been the GPS on her phone that gave her away. (Or maybe somebody dropped a dime on her?) She was hiding at a friend's house in Massachusetts at the time.
My point is that Maxwell was "under cover" for almost 10 years ... leading up to her being arrested and charged with the crimes. It happened during Chump's first term, I'm thinking maybe 2019? I can't remember, but IF Chump had been trying to have her "suicided" ... well, we never would have heard anything, would we? It would have never made the papers.
